Vitiligo, also known as leukoderma or Phulheri, is a disease affecting color producing cells (melanocytes) and presents as milky white patches on the skin. It has a social stigma associated with it; most of the people think that it can’t be treated. Nowa days there are many treatment options available. Most of the patients respond to medical management depending upon site of the disease & color of hairs on the patch. Treatment options include:

• Topical creams & lotions.
• Oral medicines like vitamins, zinc & other medicines.
• Phototherapy ( PUVA & Narrow Band UVB).

Those patients which don’t respond to medical management or who have vitiligo of non hairy areas can be treated with surgery (skin grafting). Surgical treatment options include :

• Punch grafting.
• Split skin grafting.
• Suction blister technique.
• Melanocyte transfer.
• Tattooing.
